Problem
Nöm Pang is a family-owned Cambodian restaurant in Las Vegas with a strong local identity. I wanted to show how a modern restaurant site could make the menu, ordering, hours, and location details easy to find while still giving the brand a warm, polished web presence.
My Role
I built this site as an unofficial showcase after reaching out to the restaurant and not receiving a response. It is not a commissioned project, but it demonstrates how I would approach a real local restaurant website from design through implementation.
Technical Decisions
- Used Astro, Vue, TypeScript, and Tailwind to keep the site responsive and maintainable.
- Focused the layout on practical customer actions: viewing the menu, finding the location, checking hours, and ordering.
- Balanced restaurant storytelling with fast access to the details mobile visitors usually need first.
Impact
The project demonstrates local business web design, responsive front-end delivery, and customer-focused conversion paths in a realistic restaurant context.
What I Would Improve Next
- Replace showcase assumptions with owner-approved content, photography, and ordering details.
- Add analytics to understand menu and ordering engagement.
- Refine accessibility and content freshness once maintained as an official business site.
